Nature loving couple donate 10+ acres to Santa Clarita to ensure the land remains pristine

Southern California is one of the hottest real estate markets in the country. We read stories daily about investors from around the world buying property here, often for cash.

So, it was heartening to read today in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal that in December of last year, long time Santa Clarita residents and nature lovers Bob and Wendy Stevenson donated two 4.91 acre lots to the City of Santa Clarita for open space. This is their second property donation. In 2007, the couple donated 16.3 acres to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.

The Stevensons were motivated by the desire to give others the opportunity to enjoy the pristine mountains and unobstructed ridge line that they have come to love. The City of Santa Clarita may build trails on the land that will connect the land to the existing Golden Valley Ranch, a 900-acre tract of open space crisscrossed by trails.

Both Bob and Wendy are mountain bike enthusiasts and they look forward to using the trails and enjoying the views.

By the way, Bob Stevenson is an engineer and holds over 100 patents in the medical device field. So, perhaps you are benefiting as well from medical advances for which he is responsible.
