Shoes That Fit

About

Going barefoot in the summer is one thing. Doing it all year long -- or having to wear worn out, mismatched or poor fitting shoes every day throughout the year is something else entirely. It destroys self-esteem. It degrades and depresses. It makes going to school embarrassing and sometimes, impossible.

This is why Shoes That Fit was born. Studies show that properly fitting shoes can enhance self-confidence in school children and boost their development and overall growth. That's a lot to get from a simple pair of shoes, but those at Shoes That Fit see the positive impact of their work every day on the kids they serve.

Shoes That Fit matches sponsoring groups with nearby schools that have children in need. The sponsoring group--a business, school, church, or simply a group of friends--determine how many children they can help. The organization then matches the donors with the kids most in need and provides shoes in the right sizes.

By using this model with every sponsoring group across America, volunteers are making a direct impact on the children in their own communities.
