Southern California Grantmakers

About

Southern California Grantmakers (SCG) is a membership association of private-sector grantmakers located in five counties (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura). SCG seeks to enhance connections and support high impact philanthropy in Southern California and beyond.

With its current membership including private, community and family foundations, as well as corporate grantmakers and individual donors, SCG’s members most frequently award grants in the areas of education, health, human services, arts and culture, public affairs/society benefit and the environment.

SCG also aims to elevate the broader field of philanthropy in the region. SCG serves as a gateway to a diverse and exciting learning community and is a philanthropic home for grantmakers across Southern California, providing the highest quality programs, services and information to its membership and the sector.

SCG offers a range of programs and events that supports the professional growth of its members and fosters connections among grantmakers and between grantmakers and their peers in the nonprofit, public and private sectors.

SCG also monitors public policy and engages with policymakers and the media on issues relevant to Southern California and the broader foundation community.  In addition, the SCG website provides its members and others with tools and resources specifically addressing the needs of the Southern California philanthropic community.
