School on Wheels

About

School on Wheels enhances educational opportunities for homeless children from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Its goal is to shrink the gaps in their education and provide them with the highest level of education possible. 

Through its programs, School on Wheels serves as a consistent support system to homeless students at a time of great stress and fear. It does this by offering:

  • One-one-one weekly tutoring
  • School supplies
  • Assistance in entering school
  • Help in locating lost records
  • Scholarships
  • Guidance for parents regarding their children's education
  • A learning center locate in the heart of Skid Row

At the heart of the School on Wheels program is its volunteer tutors, who come from all walks of life and share the goal to reach out to a child as a tutor, mentor and positive influence in his or her educational development.

School on Wheels services children in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura and Riverside Counties.
