Hub LA

About

Hub LA is about the power of people with ideas. It is a new kind of gathering place—physical and digital, local and global—a conscious lifestyle club dedicated to the people and teams building the local, sustainable economy in LA. It combines the best of a social club, innovation lab, business incubator, serviced office, and the comforts of home to create a place for meaningful encounters, productive work sessions, exchange and inspiration, all with the ambition to spur social innovation.

The Hub started in London in 2006 as a for-profit social enterprise with the mission to connect, empower, and resource individuals working to create positive change in the world, and believed access to a physical gathering place would be the catalyst. From San Francisco to Johannesburg to Sao Paulo and Milan, The Hub has expanded into a diverse global network of over 30 locally-owned places all connected by a shared vision and brand.

People select Hub LA because of the inspiring environment; a curated community of diverse individuals and enterprises focused on creating positive change; and its focus on collaboration, programming and member engagement. As a part of the Global Hub Network, Hub LA members get immediate access to a vibrant global community and a brain trust of over 7,000 (and growing) individuals leading social innovation in cities around the world.

Hub LA’s selected members are “impact professionals”—social entrepreneurs, investors, intrepreneurs, policy makers, artists, activists, students, scientists, technologists, and educators—individuals using their work to make a positive or environmental change. Their skills and focus span multiple sectors from education and clean tech, to design and media.

In June 2013, Hub LA launched its Media Lab, offering 3,000 square feet of creative space and resources. The Media Lab facilitates collaobration among storytellers, message makers, visual artists, and social entrepreneurs to create meaningful and entertaining content. For Angelenos across all industries, the Media Lab provides opportunities to fund, source, create, and disseminate creative visual projects. Offering workspace, post-production facilities, equipment rentals, and a screening room, the Media Lab also hosts media-specific programming, seminars, workshops, and panels.
